Cancellation of SAM 2009

We have to inform our dear SAM friends that "Klub trmastih" has decided not to organise Slovenian Alpine Marathon this year. There are several reasons for this decision, all in connection with the difficulties of the organisation of this event. Our expectations that sport shops or sport- and tourism organisations would be more interested in our run, were unfortunately not justified. Despite of this we believe that SAM was an interesting long course, very different from most events in Slovenia and it is possible that it will be organized, in a slightly different form, again some time in the future .

This year, we will focus our activities on the organisation of Trans Slovenia course. Today, this course is at least as much different form other courses as SAM was almost ten years ago. Four hundred kilometres in five days is a great distance, but limits exist only in our minds …
